How to forward missed calls on RingCentral

Forward only the calls you miss (RingCentral app)

1. In the RingCentral app on your computer or the web, click Settings in the left navigation bar, then Phone.
2. Scroll down to Call handling and click Edit.
3. Choose the hours you're setting up: Work or After hours.
4. Under Incoming calls, choose Ring in order (drag your phones into the order you want) or Ring all at once, and switch on each phone that should ring.
5. Under Missed calls, choose Forward to external number and enter the number.
6. Click Save. Repeat for the other set of hours if you want missed calls forwarded then too.

The other choices under Missed calls are Send to voicemail, Play message and disconnect, and Forward to extension. On a new small business account you can also reach Call handling from the Manage your incoming calls card.

How long your phones ring first

RingCentral's call handling guide for the online account says you can set the number of rings for each phone and forwarding number. Give yourself enough rings to pick up when you can.

Don't use "Forward all calls" for this

RingCentral also has Forward all calls (profile picture, then Call rules). It sends every call to the other number, so your own phones won't ring. Use it for vacations, not for missed calls.

Test it before you rely on it

1. Call your business number from another phone.
2. Don't answer. Let it ring.
3. Check that the call reaches the number you forwarded to.
4. Call once more while you're on another call, if you set up busy forwarding too.

If the call goes to your old voicemail instead, the forwarding didn't save. Go through the steps again, or contact your provider.
